Here is a fantastic running/driving example of a mid 80’s soon to be classic. Ive gone though this 944 in all areas. Timing belt and updated water pump were done in 2006 along with new Bilstein shocks. In 2012 I replaced front and rear brake calipers, rotors, pads and replaced the original brake hoses with stainless steel braided hoses. Fuel system received new fuel pump, hoses and filter. The front lower ball joints and inner and outer tie rods and boots were replaced. New clutch slave and master cylinder. Brand new windshield was just put in fall of 2015. Alternator and starter were both rebuilt. I replaced the shifter rod bushings and lever as they had developed excessive play, shifts are nice and crisp and easy to select now. I upgraded the steering wheel to the Luisi sport wheel as the original wheel was too large and dug into my legs. I still have original wheel if you prefer. All of the fluids including: coolant, brake/clutch fluid, engine oil (synthetic),power steering is all fresh. I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting but would be more than happy to answer any questions you have. As far as the cons, they’re only a few and they’re minor. The drivers door has a very small dent on the body line that was picked up at the grocery store. The original a/c system with the r12 has been empty for some time and not operational. The interior is in great shape overall but drivers seat back bolster is beginning to have the piping pop through (I have brand new leathers for the front seats and were very expensive) I deleted the original rear hatch wiper, radio, and antenna as I was looking for a pure drivers car. I no longer have the original alpine radio. The sunroof is operational but is missing the right side latch. Still fully operational and removable. That’s all the repairs and cons I can think of at the moment. It’s a fantastic running and driving car. Always starts and has always been pure joy to drive.
